Saturday night on Barricane Bay, along from Woolacombe in North Devon. The surf was clean 2ft, but my spaghetti arms were tired after an hour or two.

So we threw our wetsuits in the bucket in the back of the car, pulled on down jackets and barbecued sausages on a cliff overlooking the sea, washed down with sweet cider from Indicknowle Farm. They’ve been fermenting cider in the family for three generations.
